OCTAX polarAIDE™ System

OCTAX polarAIDE™ is the solution for routine spindle and zona analysis in the IVF lab. Oocytes´ quality is evaluated by polarAIDE´s unique “automatic zona scoring”. An innovative tool identifies the oocyte´s zona pellucida and measures its birefringence properties. Data are converted into a quality score based on OCTAX´s validated and patented algorithm. Analysis is done fully automatic and user independent and takes only a few seconds per oocyte. OCTAX polarAIDE™ is based on the widely used multi-purpose IVF software platform “OCTAX EyeWare™”. The system includes software, the OCTAX high quality USB2.0 camera in space-saving design, optical components (filters, circular polarizer) and an electronic LC analyzer. polarAIDE™ can easily be upgraded with the OCTAX laser, IMSI or video recording modules. Integrating all tools on one software platform makes OCTAX the most user friendly system on the market.

Applications

Spindle imaging for oocyte stageing: Premature microinjection is the major reason for failed or abnormal fertilization after ICSI. OCTAX polarAIDE™ has been shown to be most beneficial in determining the meiotic stage of oocytes. It is only by spindle imaging that metaphase II stage can be verified. Improve your ICSI results by optimizing the time point of microinjection!

Spindle imaging to check viability: vitrification of non-fertilized metaphase II oocytes is an upcoming technology. polarAIDE™ can be used to assess the viability and developmental capacity of frozen-thawed oocytes by documenting spindle recovery.
