Biopsies of ovarian or testicular tissue might be taken by remote clinics while the demanding procedures of cryopreservation, appropriate storage and thawing have to be performed by specialist centres for reproductive medicine.
The transportation system ensures optimum conditions during transport to maintain the viability of the tissue. Samples are maintained at 2-8°C (ovarian tissue) without freezing or close to body temperature (testicular tissue). Mini loggers allow for monitoring and documentation of temperature during transport to meet the requirements of QC systems.
