Open Pulled Straws for Vitrification

The Open Pulled Straws (OPS) have been specially designed for vitrification (ultra rapid freezing) without ice crystal formation. OPS is an “open” system for vitrification. However, they can be packed in 0.5 cc straws which are sealed on both ends before plunging to make the system safe against contamination.
The Open Pulled Straws are made from PVC with a length of 93 mm. They are available in two sizes: standard OPS (inner tip diameter approx. 0.65 mm) and S-OPS (super fine OPS) with an inner tip diameter of approx. 0.3 mm. As OPS are handmade, tip diameters may vary to some extent.
